Pontious Pilate and The Naildrivers, explode out of the traps once again with their latest single ‘Chemistry’. Out on FIFA Records, ‘Chemistry’ is the latest single to be taken from The Naildrivers highly anticipated debut full-length album “Kick The Megaphone” which is due out later this year.
‘Chemistry follows on from last years two extremely well received singles ‘Own Your Spectrum’ and ‘Ring a Rosie’ which both caught the ear of DJ’s both in Ireland and further afield.
It perfectly illustrates the diversity of styles that the Naildrivers can command, with its semi funk driven intro and verse to the four to the floor anthemic chorus. It’s a song about the dilemma of being alone in a crowd and wondering, given the crowd, is that such a bad thing.
'Kick the Megaphone', which was recorded in Cork’s Kitten Lane Studio's and co-produced by the band themselves, has a mixture of styles from the raucous ska/punk energy the Naildrivers have become known for, to the R&B of tunes like the aforementioned 'Chemistry' the soulfulness of 'Daddy Say's', the stripped back rawness of vocal and guitar new track 'Tragedy Plus Time', to the quasi mariachi speed ballad of 'Ring a Rosie'.
Since its founding in 2005, Cork label FIFA Records have continuously worked with exciting new Irish talent (Fight Like Apes, Elastic Sleep, The Vincent(s), First Class & Coach, Lorraine Nash) as well as releasing material from established names on the Irish indie scene such as The Frank & Walters, Emperor of Ice Cream, One Morning In August, Cat Dowling, August Wells, Whipping Boy and Power of Dreams.

Οι Pontious Pilate και The Naildrivers, ξεσπούν από τις παγίδες για άλλη μια φορά με το τελευταίο τους single «Chemistry». Το "Chemistry" που κυκλοφορεί στη FIFA Records είναι το πιο πρόσφατο σινγκλ από το πολυαναμενόμενο ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ "Kick The Megaphone" των Naildrivers, το οποίο αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσει αργότερα φέτος.
Το «Chemistry» ακολουθεί από τα τελευταία χρόνια δύο εξαιρετικά καλά αποδεκτά σινγκλ «Own Your Spectrum» και «Ring a Rosie», τα οποία τράβηξαν τα αυτιά των DJ τόσο στην Ιρλανδία όσο και πιο μακριά.
Απεικονίζει τέλεια την ποικιλομορφία των στυλ που μπορούν να προσδώσουν οι Naildrivers, με την εισαγωγή και τον στίχο που καθοδηγείται από ημι-φανκ στο ύμνο ρεφρέν των four to the floor. Είναι ένα τραγούδι για το δίλημμα του να είσαι μόνος μέσα σε ένα πλήθος και να αναρωτιέσαι, γιατί το πλήθο είναι τόσο κακό.
Το "Kick the Megaphone", το οποίο ηχογραφήθηκε στο Cork's Kitten Lane Studio's και συμπαραγωγός από το ίδιο το συγκρότημα, έχει ένα μείγμα στυλ από τη θορυβώδη ska/punk ενέργεια για την οποία έχουν γίνει γνωστοί οι Naildrivers, μέχρι το R&B μελωδιών όπως τα προαναφερθέντα. «Χημεία» η ψυχοσύνθεση του «Daddy Say's», η απογυμνωμένη ωμότητα του νέου κομματιού της φωνής και της κιθάρας «Tragedy Plus Time», μέχρι την οιονεί mariachi speed μπαλάντα του «Ring a Rosie».
